10-08-2006 : Trans America AND Sad Moives 3:33 AM

    ----------------------------------------------
    today is 10 August 2006.

I went to office for meeting thai mornig . I felt sleepy much , but I have to pretent active , so the meeting was quite slow ( in my opinion ) . I have MaMa Cup nooddle for breakfast , It's OK!! and safe my busy life la.

I have discuss with my co-workers about the movies TRANS AMERICA. I said it's so sad about the story of Transexual , even (s)he ( my co-worker) is gay but he said is funny ???? I felt it's good piont to know that some of people made fun about the emotion of other feeling .

It;s sosad to know that Gay have a Teenager-son , especially now he is homeless !!! The responsibily and desire came to that Transies( I don't know a word call semi - operated Ladyboy !)

    ----------------------------------------------

Transamerica was the closing film for the Frameline film festival in San Francisco and won the "The Frameline Audience Award for Best Feature". The film was obviously a labor of love. Duncan Tucker wrote and directed and wisely cast Felicity Huffman as Bree (before she had been cast as a "desperate housewife"), Huffman's husband William Macy is executive producer.

The plot line is certainly the tried and true formula of the transformational road trip, yet the irony of Bree's concurrent sexual transformation freshens a story that could easily have been cliché. Kevin Zegers and the rest of the supporting cast are superb, but Huffman's characterization of Bree is Oscar caliber.

See Transamerica! It's not tragic like "Boys Don't Cry". It's not about sexuality, fetish, or camp. It's a movie about otherness, transformation, family, and ultimately acceptance. Felicity Huffman's Golden Globe winning and Oscar nominated performance is absolutely astounding. Her acting skill fills Bree with insecurity, pathos, warmth, humor, and growth which ultimately transforms the audiences involvement from freak show curiosity to empathy and identification.

Thankfully the Weinstein brothers recognized just how outstandingly strong this performance is and decided that Transamerica would be one of the first films they would choose to distribute after their great success at Miramax.

I've seen this movie again during it's limited distribution, again in general distribution and now on DVD, each time I find even more to like. Transamerica is an indie classic

WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD : LOUIS ARMSTRONG & KENNY G

I see trees of green........ red roses too
I see ’em bloom..... for me and for you
And I think to myself.... what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue..... clouds of white
    Bright blessed days....dark sacred nights
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world.

The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are also on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin’.. how do you do
    They’re really sayin’......i love you.

I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
    They’ll learn much more.....than I’ll never know
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world

    (instrumental break)

The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are there on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin’.. how do you do
    They’re really sayin’...*spoken*(I ....love....you).

I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
    *spoken*(you know their gonna learn
A whole lot more than I’ll never know)

A Nutshell Review: A Season for Love, 6 February 2006

It's been some time since I've watched a movie with a relative huge ensemble cast (think the last was Crash), and little did I expect this Korean romance movie to boost the same too, with fine acting, good comedy and lots of love demonstrated in various ways.

There are 4 separate stories in this film, and it's difficult for me to judge which of them is superior than the other. Each looked into its niche area, and have ample screen time to develop its story, though the characters do get intertwined in one another's story with little conscious interaction.

Watching Sad Movie is a emotional rolling coaster journey. The first 2/3 part of the movie is in fact funny and witty. The character building is clever, i should say. Their relationship with their partners is convincing too.

The film actually is dealing with the theme of communication. The eight characters in the movie are more or less unable to communicate with their loved one. The honest and a bit stupid fireman, a jobless youngster, a mother and the deaf gal form four separate, yet related plot lines of the movie. The movie is moving along the plot line of how these characters's blocks of communication are being solved.

The development is smooth, full of witty moments, and plot lines help each other to maintain a overall light atmosphere of the first 2/3 of the movie.

But when the movie runs to the latter 1/3 part. it turns into a sad mood. It will definitely make you cry as i did. Although some twists may seem a bit over-sentimental, but it is still effective. It's like when you are questioning or even complaining it's too sentimental, you are crying indeed. A very funny cinematic experience.

Overall, it's one of the best Korean romance movie so far.
