I love unexpected lazy weekday mornings. Today's just happened because my morning class got cancelled. I think. Maybe it wasn't; but still.

I woke up at 9, and had an hour to myself, so I made breakfast. My father was at work, my mother was at the preschool teaching, my brother and sisters were at school, and it was just me. It was the easy, comfortable sort of silence; I felt like I enjoyed a little bit of morning I shouldn't have.

I had cheesey scrambled eggs and sardines.

My friend hates it when I'm in the kitchen, the way she feels uncomfortable whenever I go shopping or buy moisturizer or hair conditioner. I guess she's been taught that real men should be as useless, badly-dressed, chafed, and dirty as realistically possible. It ought to make sense on some weird, sexist level. Myself, I make awesome eggs anyway, so what does sexism know.

The whole day passed by so slowly and wonderfully. I could just have these days for awhile.

Multi versatile saxophonist and vocalist Jaared is one of the most in-demand instrumentalists in the United States. His talents on alto and soprano saxophone, not to mention his exceptional talents on vocals, have been utilized by such artists as Peter White, Deborah "Debbie" Gibson, Robbie Dupree, Howard Scott (from the band "War"), Jeff "Skunk" Baxter (from the Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan), Nils Lofgren (from Bruce Springsteen and the "E" Street Band), Steve Ferrone (of the Average White Band), Freddie Jackson, Angela Bofill, Lester Chambers (of the Chambers Brothers), Jeff Levine (former keyboardist for Hall & Oates), and Rhian Benson just to name a few. Jaared currenlty has two solo CD's to his credit. His debut CD entitled "Foreward" helped garner him a nomination for Best New Artist of the Year for 2002 by The National Smooth Jazz Association.

Jaared was also a featured performer on the critically acclaimed CD "Maximum Grooves Coast to Coast" that garnered a Grammy nomination in 2004. Jaared currently has four bands in the U.S. and one band bassed in London England that support him when he is on tour. Jaared also tours with smooth jazz guitarist Peter White and travels extensively with Mr. White in the U.S. and Europe. Jaared has signed a new recording contract with the England based record lable "Trippin 'N' Rhythm Records". Jaared's debut CD for the Trippin lable, entitled "Addiction", was released world wide February 5, 2008. "Addiction" is now available for downloads on ITunes! Jerry Maguire was a perfect example of a movie that didn't need an original score. Tom Cruise's sports agent belonged to a world of fast-talking and real-time media. So a car stereo library of songs was the better way to go in portraying a blossoming relationship within that world. The album can look like a pooling of two people's collections (his being the recent go-getting variety: Springsteen's "Secret Garden", Aimee Mann's "Wise Up", Rickie Lee Jones' "The Horses"; hers being: The Who's "Magic Bus" and "Getting' In Time", Paul McCartney's "Singalong Junk" and "Momma Miss America", Elvis Presley's "Pocketful of Rainbows"), but fortunately the collection flows smoothly from one to the next. Nancy Wilson's "We Meet Again" is credited as the movie's theme, but just about any would have served the purpose as well.

The late Bill Evans was among the truly great pianists in the jazz pantheon. Evans's measured, introspective approach interwove classical and blues influences, was cerebral as well as deeply poignant, proving an influence on, among others, Miles Davis, Keith Jarrett, and Brazilian-born jazz pianist Eliane Elias. What makes SOMETHING FOR YOU an event is the presence of bassist Marc Johnson, whose nimble, lithe playing was part of the last edition of the Bill Evans Trio; Joey Baron, who can wail with Bill Frisell and John Zorn, but is dynamically delicate here; and Elias's moderately dusky vocals gracing nearly a third of the album. Elias shares Evans's concept of graceful conciseness, never playing a barrage of notes when a few judiciously placed ones will do just fine.

Recorded on the same night as Sunday At The Village Vanguard, WALTZ FOR DEBBY captures one of the most important and well-integrated piano trios in the history of jazz, working on a superbly inspired night. It is clear, listening to this record, that bassist Scott Lafaro had a very special rapport with Evans, and drummer Paul Motian's subtle, improvised accompaniments and eccentric, quirkily quiet swing was the perfect engine for this subtle, impressionistic pianist. Throughout the '70s Keith Jarrett maintained two contrasting ensembles, one American based, the other Scandinavian. This is an album by the latter quartet, which had previously recorded the warm and winning BELONGING in 1974.

1978's MY SONG is aptly titled, as the six Jarrett compositions do indeed have the individual characteristics and bearing of songs. Infused with elements of folk and gospel, the music has a friendly resonance that aligns it with the likes of Horace Silver. While not as overtly soulful as Silver, the quartet's interpretations celebrate the power of melody and harmony. Garbarek's crystalline tone in particular flies through the rhythmic architecture like a bird over a winter landscape.

James Ingram - Greatest Hits - The Power of Great Music James Ingram a very underrated vocalist. This man has nice smooth voice. He has worked under the production of Quincy Jones he has done some beautiful songs. One of the best duets of all time "Baby Come to Me" w/Patti Austin. He has done some great material he does great work and he is a great singer. Some of my favorites on here are : Baby Come To Me, Just Once, Yamo' B There w/ Michael Mc Donald, One Hundred Ways, and many other great songs I love this album and I enjoy James Ingrams's music. If you enjoy James Ingram's music or Quincy Jones then you would definitely enjoy this album it is a must have for any Quincy Jones or James Ingram's fan!!!!

This album from 1957 excellently captures what was definitive of jazz at that time, and in so doing became one of the best jazz albums of all time. Sonny Clark never had as big a name as other prominent pianists of the day, but he deserves to be prominently remembered. His style on this album obviously echoes with the style of Bud Powell but (like the great Dave McKenna on his trio recordings from this same time period) his playing also brings with it a smooth lyricism that is new. Sonny Clark's playing on this album has the sound of beautiful perfection, and (along with the great work of Paul Chambers on bass and Philly Joe Jones on drums) the playing really swings. The tunes are all ones recorded many times by many others, but these renditions really set the standard for how these "standards" sound. "I Didn't Know What Time It Was" is particularly strong. This is a great album to introduce jazz to someone, and also is an essential study album for anyone seriously interested in the art form.

Sticking to bop standards, Sonny Clark essentially plays his version of Bud Powell, carving out his own approach to the influential style.
