แต่ไหนแต่ไรมา ใครๆ ก็มักอยากจะได้ทานเค้กชิ้นสุดท้าย ด้วยเหตุผลที่ไร้เหตุผลอย่าง “ชิ้นสุดท้าย แฟนสวย” มันอาจเป็นความภูมิใจเล็กๆ ของคนที่ได้เค้กชิ้นนั้น ไม่เว้นแม้แต่ “มณเฑียร แก้วกำเนิด” หรือที่รู้จักกันในชื่อ “โต้ง P.O.P” หนึ่งในอดีตสมาชิกวงป็อปสามคนที่เคยได้รับความนิยมในช่วงหนึ่ง ปัจจุบันสมาชิกทั้งสามแยกกันไปทำงานในแบบของตัวเอง โต้งก็เช่นกัน ผู้ชายธรรมดาๆ ที่เดินออกมาจากเบเกอรี่มิวสิค ก่อนจะมาทำหน้าที่ดูแลด้านงานเพลงในสังกัดใหม่มาแรงอย่าง Spicy Disc ที่ผมได้ยินครั้งแรกในงานใหญ่ FaT Festival ครั้งที่ 4 ที่จัดขึ้นที่สนามม้านางเลิ้ง

ผมยังจำได้ว่า ปลายปี 2547 ในงานนั้น ชายคนนี้ ขน E.P. “Menu No.001” ที่บรรจุ 3 เพลงใหม่มาวางขาย แพ็กเกจที่เป็นรูปเสี้ยวเค้ก เคยมีคนบอกว่าถ้านำมาวางต่อกัน 8 ชิ้น ก็จะได้รูป ทรงเค้กเต็มๆ ภายในมีส่วนผสมและขั้นตอนวิธีทำเค้กแถมมาให้ด้วย เป็น E.P. ที่ดูสะดุดตาและสวยงามที่สุดในงานเลยทีเดียว ในช่วงเวลานั้น ทั้ง 3 เพลงยังไม่มีแม้แต่ชื่อเพลงด้วยซ้ำ แต่กว่า แฟนเพลงจะได้อุดหนุนอัลบั้มเต็ม ก็ต้องรอคอยยาวนานถึง 1 ปีเต็ม ปลายปี 2548 อัลบั้ม “Appetizer” ของเขาจึงได้เวลาคลอดออกมา

ทุกเพลงในอัลบั้ม โต้ง รับหน้าที่แต่งทำนองและโปรดิวซ์เองทั้งหมด โดยมีบอย – ตรัย ภูมิรัตน มาดูแลด้านเนื้อเพลงร่วมกับโต้งอีกทีหนึ่ง ห้องอัดก็ไม่ใช่ของใครที่ไหน Sexy Pink Studio ของบอล วงอพาร์ตเมนต์คุณป้านั่นเอง แต่ที่น่าสนใจก็คือไปมาสเตอริ่งไกลถึงนิวยอร์คโดย Woody มือมาสเตอริ่งระดับรางวัลแกรมมี่เลยทีเดียว ด้วยความที่เป็นคนเพื่อนมาก เขาจึงชักชวน เพื่อนฝูงพี่น้องมาร่วมร้องให้ถึง 6 เพลงด้วยกัน

His Boy Elroy (featured several times before) intended to enter. Sadly, he missed the deadline. I suspect he might have won had he not. I gotta say this is a big surprise for me. Mandy Moore's newest album which is set to release in June has leaked! In her case this isn't good, but in ours it is. Hopefully it won't her sales, anyway the album is refreshing to hear especially for Mandy not releasing a new album since 2003's "Coverage". The young bubblegum pop diva is long gone and has deff grown lyrically & vocally. Though the album lacks a songs that pops, the midtempo flow is very nice. Deff a good,nice album so check it out now and BUY YOUR COPY JUNE 19TH!!

Fame came early for the Puerto Rican, Spanish Harlem rapper and singer Lumidee, who scored a smash hit at 19 with her debut single "Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh)." With its sweet vocals, catchy hook, infectious Diawli dancehall rhythm, and clap-heavy backdrop, "Never Leave You" soared to the top of the charts, reaching the No. 3 slot on Billboard's Hot 100 in 2003, and made it to #1 in Germany and many other European territories, including topping the pan-European charts in the summer of that year.
Now signed to TVT Records through Mach 1 Records and preparing for the April, 17, 2007 release of her sophomore album, Unexpected, Lumidee is ready to show US audiences that she does, indeed, have staying power. The title is fitting both because stateside fans will be surprised by the Latina performer's comeback ("the public thinks I've been gone, but I just wasn't in the U.S.; I was performing and recording internationally") and because of the eclectic, fusion-heavy, worldly nature of the new material. Even the making of the album was full of unexpected turns. After scouting out her options, Lumidee chose TVT Records as her home, confident that they understood and supported her vision.

In an era of digital downloads and singles, Tori Amos embraces the concept album in a sprawling 23-song oratorio. Firing across the American psychological, social, and political landscape, she takes on the state of the world, war, and feminism. To help her, she adopts five personas--her American Doll Posse--who take their characteristics from Greek gods, but not their names: Clyde, Pip, Isabel, Santa, and Tori. You need a scorecard to keep track, but don't worry. It's still Tori Amos, bending syllables in improbable pretzels with rippling piano themes and choruses that threaten to go Broadway at any moment. Amos vents her political spleen through "Isabel," leaving no doubt as to her targets on tracks like "Yo George," and comments on our impersonal age and computer addiction with "Digital Ghost." That's sung by the character "Tori," who is reputedly based on Demeter and Dionysus, representing the split between Amos's earth-mother side and her wilder, more libertine tendencies. Anti-war and pro-feminist themes are plastered across American Doll Posse like sloganeering posters. "Dark Side of the Sun" laments both sides of the war, including the Islamists who lay down their lives "for some sick promise of heaven." Amos adopts a big '80s rock sound on many tracks, with guitarist Mac Aladdin pealing off Brian May-style guitar licks over an arena-rock beat. It's where Amos details a more personal sound that American Doll Posse leaves a lasting impression. "Girl Disappearing," sung by "Clyde," holds echoes of the Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby," not only because of the string quartet and nostalgic tone, but the updated tale of a woman losing herself. "Smokey Joe" brims with dark atmospheres, Robert Fripp-like guitar sustains, and Amos's most elaborate vocal arrangements, interweaving two sets of lyrics for "Pip." More than a concept album, American Doll Posse is a convergence experience, mixing online blogs from each character, videos, MySpace sites, and more

"I put in so much time," Joe sings in a down'n'dirty rasp on "My Love," one of a handful of tracks on Ain't Nothin' Like Me destined to make hopeless R&B romantics swoon. Then, on the same song, he massages away the worries of fans who've been waiting for new Joe material since 2003: "I've got everything under control," he croons. Despite a bunch of release-date pushbacks, Ain't Nothin' Like Me leaves little room for doubt that he does. This is confident, grown-and-sexy music stirred to a pleasing consistency by slick, super-experienced collaborators--Dre, Nas, and G-Unit heavy-hitters Tony Yayo and Young Buck among them. The chugger "Love is Just a Game" grabs hold with grooves that swirl and echo, opener "Get to Know Me" bumps along to a hot Tim & Bob beat, and "Where You At" wins instant sympathy from the lovelorn and the forsaken with its rueful finger-snaps. Frost-free vocals are put to excellent use throughout, and in a way that doesn't emphasize style over honesty. If there's a misstep here, it's the boastful title--any disc of substance deserves a better one. Still, there ain't nothin' else not to like.

There's no sophomore slump for Miranda Lambert, who follows her chart-topping debut, Kerosene, with a knockout punch. Both the title cut and the album-opening "Gunpowder & Lead" ("what little girls are made of") show that Lambert hasn't lost her edge or her appetite for revenge. Yet the quieter "Desperation," the more tuneful and tender "Love Letters," the wistful "More Like Her," and the primally intense "Down" show her emotional range and maturity. While her songwriting remains a strength, Lambert also displays superb taste in other people's material, with "Dry Town" (by Gillian Welch), "Getting Ready" (a new song from Patty Griffin), and "Easy from Now On" (with the lyric that provided the title to Emmylou Harris's classic Quarter Moon in a Ten-Cent Town) reinforcing the musical quality. There isn't a throwaway cut here.

เรื่องราวเริ่มต้นขึ้นในปีที่เหว่ยอี้อายุได้สิบห้าปี เหว่ยอี้ประสบอุบัติเหตุถูกนำตัว ส่งโรงพยาบาลซึ่งมีอยู่แห่งเดียวในหมู่บ้าน ในช่วงที่เหว่ยอี้พักรักษาตัวนั่นเอง เหว่ยอี้ค้นพบห้องหลบภัยเก่าแก่ของโรงพยาบาล ที่นั่นเองทำให้เหว่ยอี้ได้รู้จัก กับจ้าวเซินเซินเด็กสาวซึ่งอายุน้อยกว่าเขาสองปี น่าเสียดายที่จ้าวเซินเซินเป็นใบ้ เหว่ยอี้ปกปิดเซินเซินว่าเขาคือฉุนอ้าย แต่แล้วโชคชะตาก็ทำให้เหว่ยอี้และเซินเซิน ต้องขาดการติดต่อกัน

Overall a good collection worth having but they should have made this a 2 disk set with more good songs. Also "Bible belt" is missing.
I bought it and I like it. It's worth having.

The 10 tracks on this album by Spanish performer Victoria Abril are a fine introduction to the vocal talents of a woman who is perhaps better known for appearing in the films of the notorious Pedro Almodovar.
The unique and exhuberant Spanish actress has appeared in Pedro Almodovar films like "Atame! / Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!" (1989) and "Tacones Lejanos / High Heels (1991)". The first single "Tu Verras" is very popular on French radiowaves.

For saboteurs of records that sound good because of elements completely unrelated to the artist, Ashlee Simpson's sophomore effort, I Am Me, may well be a dream disc. The production is a tight-wrapped, A-type achievement and, with sounds running from hip-hop (the unstoppably infectious "L.O.V.E.") to vintage '80s (the lusty "Dancing Alone") to Synchronicity-era Sting (the energetic, pulsing "Boyfriend") to airwave-friendly ballads that sister Jessica might have choked her way through ("Catch Me When I Fall"), the music sucks you in more reliably than a bagless Dyson. But instead of Ashlee Simpson, credit for both those things - really, for the way this disc favorably insinuates itself into a listener's head overall - belongs to producer/keyboardist/bassist/guitarist John Shanks. Ardent Ashlee-ites, of course, will beg to differ, and they won't be without their points: In addition to co-writing each of these 11 songs, some of which ("Beautifully Broken," a response to her "Saturday Night Live" lip-synching debacle) are more sophisticated than others ("Burnin' Up," a Madonna-reminiscent, reggae-style romp), she sings in a voice as artfully burnished and appealing as it was on her 2004 debut. She makes you want to la la all over again, and for that, and for finding the right guy to orchestrate this acknowledgment-heavy jewel, you've got to like her.

Second only to Riverdance as an international Irish showbiz phenomenon, previous installments of this Platinum-selling extravaganza have become beloved PBS standards. Recording information: 1963 - 2004. There are numerous Patti LaBelle compilations on the market, and DEFINITIVE COLLECTION covers much the same ground as most. Nevertheless, it is a fine selection, and one that--at 19 tracks--offers more than many budget-line samplers while still providing an excellent single-disc overview of the R&B diva's career. The set stretches back to LaBelle's earliest work with the Bluebelles and includes one track with the funk outfit LaBelle (which is "What Can I Do For You?" and not, surprisingly, "Lady Marmalade"). But the primary focus here is the pop-oriented urban soul of her 1980s and '90s solo career, and all the essentials--"New Attitude," "Stir It Up," and "On My Own" (her number one smash with Michael McDonald)--are included. Casual fans looking for a one-stop dose of LaBelle's best won't go wrong with this one.

'Hats Off To The Buskers' is the debut album from one of 2006's most hype surrounded bands. Produced by Owen Morris (Oasis, The Verve), the album was recorded in just two weeks and contains fourteen tracks of raw, guitar driven indie rock including the singles 'Wasted Little Djs', 'Superstar Tradesmen' and 'Same Jeans'

Hugely popular in its native U.K. by the time of this debut's early 2007 release, the View (not to be confused with the U.S. talk show) lived up to the hype by presenting an impressive set of edgy yet pop-savvy rock. Like a less-cheeky version of the Arctic Monkeys, the youthful Scottish group tempers its proudly unpolished approach with sharp melodic hooks, as best revealed on the surging "Superstar Tradesman" and the winsome "Same Jeans." Adding extra punch to the proceedings is revered producer Owen Morris, who worked with the Verve and Oasis and gives HATS OFF TO THE BUSKERS a full, unifying sound that easily marks it as one of the most noteworthy Britpop offerings of the year.

The smooth tempo Missy Elliot produced first single "My Love is Like...Wo" is a mild prelude to an AMAZING R&B album. Many different "moods" and subject matter are tapped on this album from the playful cocky single "...Wo" to the risqué, humorous techno-ish single "Whatever B*tch" that's a definite party starter to the dark atmosphere of "Taste This" in which Mya, over a pulsating beat, turns the tables on a lover that's not living up to expectations. There's also a groovy 70's vibe to "Sophisticated Lady" which samples "Cold Blooded" that finds Mya in control of it all as a dominatrix like vixen.

Amazing tracks and my FAVORITES include the sultry erotic "Anatomy One on One" ("Undressing You with Your clothes on/ Standing up while we're laying down"), the hip hop grinder "Why You Gotta look Good" f/ G-Unit member Lloyd Banks in which Mya confessed if her lover lacked admirable traits such as being "quite so big", she wouldn't deal with his bull, and the crunk Missy and Timbaland produced single "Step" where Mya demands the respect of another hutchie tryna take her man in the club ("If she violate I got the right to strike her" ). The beautiful angelic ballad "You" showcases Mya's vocals very well and proves simplicity sometimes can be perfection.

A Thousand Different Ways, the follow-up to Clay Aiken's chart-burning debut Measure of a Man, trots out the kind of material a fleet-voiced former American Idol contestant can't help having a field day with: Aiken's version of Richard Marx's "Right Here Waiting" is bathed in a smoothness that renders it arguably better than the original; his step into Celine Dion's shoes for "Because You Loved Me" sees nary a stumble (no easy feat, considering it's a vocal obstacle course of a song); and his cover of Paul Young's '80s classic "Everytime You Go Away" comes across as a clean-sounding, much-needed update. More proof that Aiken ain't fakin' when it comes to being a stylish interpreter comes courtesy of his convincing carry-off of Dolly Parton's sweet "Here You Come Again," but where he'll earn the most merit points for this disc is with its four originals--"A Thousand Days" especially. Aiken has the kind of voice that makes listeners want to scoot close to the speaker. He may be a softy, but when it comes to trapping raw emotion in song, he's become a mop-topped man of steel

No one will lament the passing of the boy band phenomenon; now the American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken has released his first album. He's picked up right where 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys left off, not only borrowing Andreas Carlsson, the Swedish songsmith who penned some of their biggest hits (also using the services of other well-known popmeisters like Desmond Child and Cathy Dennis), but turning out the same type of impeccable over-produced and seamless creations that the Orlando pop mafia rode up the charts at the dawn of the millennium. Several years into the new millennium it seems like there's still quite a bit of life left in that zeitgeist, since Aiken's Measure of a Man debuted at number one on the Billboard charts. Well crafted and well sung, but at times lacking discernable personality or endearing idiosyncrasies, many of Aiken's tunes sound the same, whether he's lamenting the lack of love in his life ("Invisible"), reveling in it ("Perfect Day"), or supporting his fellow man ("I Will Carry You"). As a made-for-TV pop star, it'll be interesting to see how Measure of a Man measures up in the years to come.

Few would accuse Fantasia of a reluctance to abide by the wisdom that what you've got, you should flaunt, and the vocal gusto she slathers over her full-length debut gets partial credit for earning--and keeping--your attention. To a greater extent, though, the high-wattage help heaped over the Idol 3 champ and Patti LaBelle-sound-alike makes the disc dazzle. In addition to pitch-ins from Missy Elliott, who produced and co-wrote three tracks and busts out a two-snaps-up rhyme on "Selfish (I Want U 2 Myself)," Jazze Pha duets on the ultra-mod "Don't Act Right" and Jermaine Dupri wrote and produced the smolderer "Got Me Waiting." Surprisingly, though, it's not those tracks or even the Idol-propelled cover of the Gershwins' "Summertime" that will stick with listeners most. Instead, first single "Truth Is," a sweet, old-school R&B lament directed toward a lost love, and "Baby Mama," a spirited shout-out to hard-working single mothers, snare standout status with their from-the-gut authenticity. Keeping it real is what won Fantasia the hearts of millions on TV, and despite Free Yourself's likable slickness, it convinces that--hot commodity or no--she's not about to forget it.

[2007] LEVEL 42 - SUPERHITS

This British Group was formed in 1980 as a jazz-funk fusion band. For 2 decades, they have been successful with so many hits that top the chart. Mark King's slap bass techniques that usually became the rhythm and groove basis for the songs, and the falsetto from Mark Lindup, are always the main attraction for them, the trademark of Level 42. I don't have to talk about how good their songs are, i just have to talk about the tracklist of their best albums. I've noticed their best albums were never complete. There's always 1 or 2 hits is missing. So, me and my friend blackmamba decided to make our own compilation, where we put ALL of their hits, including Guaranteed and Three Words (this one, as far as i remember, is never placed in any best album, and quite rare..). So, I hope you enjoy our presentation and have fun with the originality and greatness of Level 42.

[2007] Swing Out Sister - The Best

Swing Out sister is a British duo that became a superstar in mid 80s. They started the group in form of 3 person, then later on, they became just duo. Corrine Drewery, the vocalist, has a really unique voice, wide range, soft and sexy. They reached the stardom with their superhits, Breakout. People place them under different sub genres, like pop jazz, smooth jazz, cool jazz to acid jazz. Makes sense, cuz they have all the ingredients to fit into those kind of sub genres. All of their songs are the result of fine blend between synthesizer, trumpet/brass section, with really cool vocal. Swing Out Sister have all the correct ingrediants like attractive female lead, infectious melodies, danceable, uplifting and addictive. Really, it's fun and light but always musically interesting at the same time. Very very recommended. :)

You know you're dealing with a real blockbuster when the soundtrack is made up not only of rocking tracks, but of rocking tracks that were recorded specifically for the movie instead of being fished out of various preexisting albums. (Okay, except for Chubby Checker's "The Twist"--that one’s not hot off the presses.) Such is the power of Spidey that he inspired the likes of Snow Patrol, the Killers, Jet, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Wolfmother--and of course you just have to look at the title of "The Supreme Being Teaches Spider-Man How to Be in Love" to know the song is by the Flaming Lips. The overall mood is less heavy than on the previous soundtrack, with the selection hitting pretty close to an alt-rock bull's eye. Highlights include "Sealings," a return to form for Yeah Yeah Yeahs; the Walkmen's evocative "Red River"; and Jet's "Falling Star," a muscular piece of retro-balladry. Among the oddities are Coconut Records, the new project of actor (and former Phantom Planet member) Jason Schwartzman; its contribution, the lovely "Summer Day," features backup vocals by Kirsten "Mary Jane" Dunst. Still, sometimes a big name is not needed: One of the best tracks, the anthemic "Portrait of a Summer Thief," is by the unsigned (as of this writing) Austin band Sounds Under Radio.

2007 JANA KIRSCHNER - SHINE

Slovak singer Jana Kirschner released her international album Shine in April 2007 in Slovakia and Czech Republic. Shine was recorded in London under supervision of producer Ross Cullum. In May, the album is going to be released in European countries gradually.
First single is called Another Day.

She first attracted public attention as a participant of the beauty pageant Miss Slovakia 1996.
